Just before sunset we were alerted that a tsunami warning had been issued and we had 10 minutes to get out of the hazard zone. A strong offshore earthquake was the culprit. So we parked up on this bluff to watch the sunset and for any signs of the Coos Bay spit being drowned. How long does one wait when all of the local radio stations are prerecorded tape and there is no apparent public channel to get info out? Ah, vhf channel scan to the rescue!
